About the clinic

Since 2016 we have been serving to prevent loss of vision by children in Kazakhstan at the age of 3 to 18 children in need:

• with moderate and severe vision impairment;
• weak sighted children;
• blind children;
• children with eye disabilities.

In the framework of the charitable project of the "UCPEvo" Public Foundation "Children's Eye Clinic "LUCY" strives to reduce disabilities among children and teenagers in Kazakhstan, who suffer from trouble seeing, except for eye cancer and appendages of eye.

All patients of the clinic are citizens or have a residence permit of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

• Children's Eye Clinic "LUCY" performs full ophthalmologic diagnostics in the direction of "Good Health and Well-Being" and, according to medical indications, refers to partner clinics for operations, making ophthalmologic care accessible to children from socially vulnerable groups.
We carry out our activities under the Sustainable Development Agenda for 2030 of United Nations Development Program.
In the area of "Quality Education" our doctor conducts on-site ophthalmologic screenings in preschools and schools, identifying abnormalities at an early stage. This allows correct and timely selection of eyeglass correction, improving the academic performance of children's.
In the direction of "Reducing inequality" we reduce social inequality among children from 3 to 18 years by providing eye care at the Children's Eye Clinic "LUCY" to children with disabilities and children from disadvantaged families, as well as children without parental care.
Whom we help
Children's Eye Clinic "LUCY" renders ophthalmological assistance to children and teenagers, and also arranges support for child-care facilities.
Specifically, we help:
• kindergartens;
• orphanages;
• general education schools;
• boarding schools;
• schools for the weak sighted children;
• children with moderate and severe visual impairment;
• weak sighted children;
• blind children;
• children with disabilities due to eye disease;
• children and teenagers of 3 to 18 years from socially vulnerable groups who need ophthalmological care;
• educational process in child-care facilities, providing didactic materials and the necessary equipment.

What we do

We conduct free on-site visual system preventive screening in child-care facilities (orphanages, kindergartens, schools, etc.).

Ophthalmic screenings

In case if a child has serious visual impairment, we conduct a complete free ophthalmological diagnosis. If necessary, we refer for treatment to local and foreign partner clinics.

Diagnostics at the clinic

We help children with moderate and severe visual impairments to maintain and improve their visual functions, as well as to support them in the future.

We improve eyesight

We enhance awareness among parents about the importance of timely diagnosis and prevention of eye diseases.

We invite clinics that provide ophthalmological assistance to children with visual impairments to co-finance treatment, provide discounts or conduct free examinations and operations for children in need.
Association of the blind and weak-sighted
Informational assistance is sometimes more important than financial assistance. Parents are often confused when they suddenly encounter visual problems with their child. Information and support are very important to them. If you are a member of the Association of the blind and weak - sighted and would like to help another family cope with the difficulties that have arisen, share contacts and recommendations, please contact us.
Associations of Physicians
The experience of physicians in the treatment of various diseases is very important. Taking into account the many eye diseases, variety in their treatment and individual characteristics, we are always glad for the help of ophthalmologists. We will gratefully accept the opportunity to conduct consultation, refresher training and training trips for our physicians.
